San Antonio's Gayborhood is a vibrant hub brimming with LGBTQIA+ businesses, organizations, and energy. It's a place where everyone feels welcome to express themselves freely and celebrate their identities.
Thinking of adding your business or organization to the mix? We'd love to have you! Here's what it means to be a staple in the Gayborhood:
Criteria to be Added to the Gayborhood:
You publicly support the full equality of all identities of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Businesses/Bars/Venues:
Provide three examples of LGBTQIA+-specific events held by your business within a six month period. Only one of those examples may be in the month of June. Links to event pages, social media posts, or news articles will be sufficient. All examples must include location, date and year and must be verifiable.
Businesses that do not host or provide LGBTQIA+-specific events or services should consider joining the San Antonio LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. If you’re unsure, submit anyway, and we will contact you should we have any questions.
Drag artists/Performers:
Provide three examples of performances at any venue within the last three years. The scope of the work must be for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Nonprofits:
Provide any services for any part of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Social/Advocacy Organizations:
Provide three examples of LGBTQIA+-specific events held by your organization within a one year period. (For LGBTQIA2S+ organizations, provide us your mission statement, organization governing documents, or similar outlining the organization’s commitment to the LGBTQIA2S+ community will be sufficient.)
Events:
Your events must be held by an LGBTQIA+ organization, for the LGBTQIA+ community or at a LGBTQIA+ venue/space. Private organizations, those that require membership, should only include events or meetings where the public is invited, or where you’re seeking to expand membership. Your event cannot be held at a private residence.
